Description

A great opportunity for a once in a life time hunt in Sonora, Mexico! Simply put, Sonora is an incredible hunting destination. Expect to see stunning sunrises and searing sunsets, sea level landscape with jagged volcanic mountains rising into the always blue sky, oceans and beaches close by, and trophy class wildlife that you've only heard of or read about! Although it is classified as desert country, it has an abundance of Flora & Fauna and in its own way is lush and varied. Water is less than scarce and the plants and animals have evolved to survive off of very little. As such, the land can be hostile. The ground is a mixture of sand and volcanic rubble which makes good footing a challenge. The mornings are cool, and the days are extremely hot. The underbrush is thick and thorny and there are several species of plants that require you to be diligent not to come in contact with. Biting insects are rare, and scorpions and snakes are around but not often in winter months and are of little concern. The Mexican people are extremely friendly and social. Just like places in the USA and elsewhere, there are safe places to hunt and other areas that should be avoided due to criminal activity. All of our destinations have been vetted and we have long standing relationships with our colleagues . Rest assured, your safety is of the utmost importance to us and you will always be in good hands. In the event that we tag out early and we almost always do, there are options to add mule deer, dove or deep sea fishing to the itinerary. All hunts are 7 days - Food, lodging and alcohol included. - Cities and gun permit are included unless otherwise stated - Transportation to and from the airport in Hermosillo. - Trophy care- caping animal and then forwarded to taxidermist from there. - Gratuities are 10 percent unless otherwise stated - In the event we tag out early which we often do, we have deer hunts, dove hunts and fishing available. - Guide provided for all hunts booked. - Top brand rifles available for rent

    Description

We started hunting wild sheep in 1989 and have been hunting them avidly ever since. We take trophy animals of all types across North America and am an advanced hunter/outdoorsman/horseman. We also volunteer for wounded warrior outdoors guiding our service men and women. I've hunted Mexico for the last 8 years, guiding 28 Boone & Crockett rams in a row with the largest measuring 187. I'm also a member of the Seri nation in Mexico and maintain an excellent relationship with them. I have access to many of the best ranches in Sonora, the Seri lands, and Tiburon island. You will be greeted by me at the Hermosillo airport upon arrival. Myself and my colleagues will help you check your guns with the Mexican military and collect your luggage. We then depart from the airport by truck to the ranch headquarters(aprox 1.5 hr drive). We'll settle you in at the lodge, check your weapon for accuracy, and meet in the fully stocked Man cave for a cocktail. I've often spotted rams from the lodge. In your room you will find two queen beds, a shower/ bathroom and toilet with air-conditioning if needed. Dinner is served in the dinning area (always with wine) and prepared by an onsite chef. The food is exceptional. In the evenings there is a central fireplace, were everyone gathers for drinks, cigars or whatever you like. Breakfast is served early in the morning, and is fantastic. Lunches will be packed to take along as necessary, and at times we'll return in the hot part of the day for lunch. I personally will cape your animal and prepare it for the taxidermist to prepare for export. The Cities permit will be done by ranch owners and submitted on your behalf. The horns will also be pinned. No sheep can be exported without the pin or cities permit.

Hunter can expect to hike 1-3 miles on a stalk. Terrain can be quite steep and rocky. There is a good road system on the ranch, but the hunter will need to hike to good vantage points as this is a free range spot and stalk hunt. Outfitter can also accommodate for all physical levels. Long sleeves shirts are a must as the local fauna is very thorny !!!

    Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

All flights will need to be booked with Hermosillo, Mexico as your final destination. Due to the laws pertaining to firearms in Mexico, hunters bringing their rifles will need to fly direct from Phoenix to Hermosillo with no connections anywhere in Mexico. Hermosillo is where your rifle permit will be located upon entry into the country. Upon your arrival you will need to check your rifle, outfitter will handle all gun permits prior to your arrival along with notifying Mexico customs of your necessary permits. Once you've cleared security, the outfitter will meet with you, the time of arrival will determine whether you depart for camp immediately or commence first thing the following morning.
